Eddie was a kind gentleman. He was old fashioned in his ways, but that was part of the endearment. His great love was the cinema, he was in the projection box from quite a young age, and it became his first job which he loved.
Eddie took a lot of ribbing with good heart, especially when the children and got together, exchanging banter.
One of the memories often recalled is one Boxing Day taking the Worsley over to Lee Green to visit relatives in the snow. On returning home he had to hand krank the engine to get going, which considering he had only been out of hospital a week was some feat.
Although we separated Eddie always remained part of our extended family, ending family gatherings etc.
Eddie and I became a bit closer when he was so poorly, helping out, visiting etc. and he was always grateful. He was worried about his lawn being cut, so that was sorted.
So dear Eddie, you will be missed, but you will live on in our memories. Rest in Peace dear soul. Gill
